Neighbors

We wanted to give a shout out to all the neighbors on our street and the folks up on Fobes Hill that visited the cidery this past weekend. It was fun getting to know you and I was amazed that a couple walked over from town. Thank you!

We also wanted you to know that we caught the goat (Jethrow) that has been roaming the area wild this past year. It was quite a story....I was busy working at my computer when I heard our Anatolian Shepard barking in her "upset" voice. I went out to find that she had cornered the goat in the hay area of my horse barn. I knew we only had moments before things got out of control and the goat would escape, again. I called Nick. He didn't answer. I called our son who just got back from racing MTB in Europe who has a broken arm-he came out but couldn't help. I called Nick again and he came over with the lasso. Seconds later the goat bolted, the dogs jumped, I don't even know what I did (probably tried to get out of the way) and Nick somehow roped the goat around the neck. The next few minutes must have been comical to watch. When the goat realized he had been lassoed, he ran all around crazy-like, Nick got rope burns on this hands, Alden still couldn't help, dogs got upset, and my feet were wrapped up in the rope. Then the goat and I were stuck together and on the ground. The dust settled and I detangled from the rope. The goat then let me lead him into our horse stall where he stayed until his owner (and a crowd of support people) came to tranq him and carry him home. It's something I'll never forget! We've all seen this goat over the past year-mostly late at night, running all over the neighborhood. He's freaked us all out b/c he's big and his coloring is unusual. All of this to say, what a wonderful group of neighbors we have and Nick can do more than make great cider!!

This weekend Rhubard cider is back and we still have our ruby red Aronia berry cider-come on by!
